Hey there! My name is Holly, and I’ve been teaching line dancing for a few years now. After having my girls, I poured everything into being a mom — and somewhere along the way, I forgot what it was like to have hobbies or to prioritize “me time.” I didn’t realize how much I needed something that would refill my cup so I could continue giving mentally, emotionally, and spiritually to my family.
One day I came across some line dancing videos, and something clicked. I called a friend and said, “We’re learning line dancing tonight.” The very first dance I learned was to “Shivers” by Ed Sheeran, and from that moment a fire was lit inside me. I became obsessed with learning, growing, and sharing line dancing with others.
The benefits blew me away — memory and focus, mind-body connection, balance, coordination, cardiovascular health, creativity, low-impact strength and toning. Beyond the physical, I found confidence, community, an inclusive, nonjudgmental environment filled with fun music, and even lifelong friendships that grew on and off the dance floor.
Here’s the funny thing: I could never “just dance.” Freestyling was terrifying to me because I knew I wasn’t good at it. At first, line dancing felt intimidating too — I had the mindset of, “I don’t know what I’m doing, so maybe I just shouldn’t go to a class.” But once I stepped in, everything changed. Line dancing gave me structure — you’re simply told what steps to take, and soon enough your body just remembers them. Over time, my confidence grew, and dancing with friends went from scary to joyful.
Now, I can’t wait to share that same joy, confidence, and connection with others. See you on the dance floor!
