LEVEL 5 - Stroke Refinement
Course Content: Provides further coordination and refinement of strokes. Skills covered include: shallow angle dive from the side, surface dives, front and back flip turns, front and back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly, standard scull, and age-appropriate water safety topics.
Exit skills: Perform a shallow-angle dive into deep water, swim front crawl for 50 yards, change direction and position of travel as necessary and swim elementary backstroke for 50 yards. Swim breaststroke for 5 yards, change direction and position of travel as necessary and swim back crawl for 25 yards.
Sign up for Level 5 if:• Comfortable in deep water• Swims at least 25 yards of the following strokes: front crawl, back crawl and elementary backstroke• Swims 15 yards coordinated of the following strokes: breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly
LEVEL 6 - Swimming and Skill Proficiency
Course Content: Students will learn to swim with ease and efficiency, and gain the ability to swim smoothly over greater distances.
Skills covered include: shallow angle dive from the side, surface dives, front and back flip turns, front and back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly, standard scull, and age-appropriate water safety topics.
Sign up for Level 6 if:• Comfortable in deep water• Swims at least 25 yards of the following strokes: front crawl, back crawl and elementary backstroke• Swims 15 yards coordinated of the following strokes: breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly
