  • Adult Learn to Row

    Here is your opportunity to come and give rowing a try! Join other adults as you explore this amazing sport and learn the beginning techniques of rowing. Lessons may include time in a team boat as well as a single boat depending on your progress. Check-in will be on the east side of Birch’s by the fire pit. All participants must be able to swim. Dress to get wet, wear tennis shoes and socks. Bring a towel and a water bottle. Please park on the west side of the lot.

  • Bonus Pilates

    Full body Pilates strength training with a focus on your core. Receive the extra "bonus" using prop work with weights, bands and exercise balls to strengthen all large muscle groups including your glutes, legs, arms and shoulders.
  • Cardio Dance Fitness

    This fun, high-energy class is for everyone! Enjoy 30 minutes of upbeat dance moves followed by 15 minutes of cool down and stretching. Routines are easy - just follow Christie's lead! No prior dance or fitness instruction needed. Class accommodates all levels of students. Music is upbeat, and you will have so much fun you won't even know you're getting a cardio workout! Bring a mat to class.

    Have you taken a pottery class and are looking for more time to explore your passion with clay? Are you an advanced student looking to work in a fun, friendly environment? Open Studio is a place where you can practice new skills and work independently on projects of your choice. All skill levels welcome, but a beginner class or prior experience is recommended. $25 per bag of clay is payable in class, which includes glazing and firing fees.

Fitness Punch Card only applies to classes held on the Orono Schools campus! Senior and Activities Center Membership Discounts do not apply. Purchase another card if you run out of punches.   • Fused Glass Open Studio

    Fused Glass Open Studio provides time and space to create fused glass projects for beginner and advanced participants. A facilitator will be on hand for advice and support. A $25 fee will be collected to cover supplies. The participant is asked to bring their own glass (COE90-preferred), cutting tools and molds (sharing of materials is also an option). It is recommended that participants have taken at least one fused glass class before joining Open Studio.
  • HIIT 60

    This 60 minute class combines strength and cardio exercises done in timed intervals so you can go at your own pace. You will perform easy-to-follow exercises for 45 seconds and enjoy a short 15 second recovery period between each exercise. Exercise combinations may include 45 seconds of jumping jacks, followed by a 15 second recovery period and 45 seconds of bicep curls, and so on. Every class finishes strong with 15 minutes of abdominal strengthening and total body stretching. This class meets Mondays and Wednesdays; come one day or both days. Modifications and low impact options will be provided. All fitness levels welcome. Bring a mat, towel, water bottle and great attitude.

    Spend a fun and relaxing night painting. Local artist Kevin Kluever will guide painters of all abilities through a piece from start to finish. Explore your creativity and create your own masterpiece. June 1: Purple Flowers - Join us online! This class date is held online using Zoom. Prior to the start date, you will receive information and a link via email to access the class. Simply click the link on the days and times of class. You will need internet connection and a computer, smart phone, or tablet to participate in the class. You will not need to purchase any software. Paint colors needed: White, Black, Red, Cadmium Yellow, Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue, Green. June 29: Palm Tree Beach - in person or virtual TBD July 20: Sailboat Sunset - in person or virtual TBD REQUIRED MATERIALS: 11x14 or 8x10 inch canvas board, paper plate or piece of cardboard, cup of water, paper towel, brushes (small, medium, large - recommended: Artist's Loft pack from Michaels), and acrylic paint.
  • Prepare Your Own Will

    Practicing attorney Adam Altman leads this class where each participant completes a valid will. Through explanations, questions and answers, most people are able to leave the class with a finished will. The probate process will be explained as well as everything necessary to complete a will. Will forms, witnesses and notary public will be provided. Class fee is per person as each individual needs their own will.

This session is hosted by local Thrivent Financial representative Brent Henkelman, FIC.
  • Strong & Fit - Strength for 55+

    Stay active, strong and fit as we work to strengthen all muscle groups. We will do 10-15 minutes of cardio to engage our large muscle groups and increase heart rate and blood flow followed by strengthening exercises. Each class ends with a 10 minute cool down and time to stretch. Modifications will be given for those with injuries, disabilities or limited mobility. It’s ideal to strength train three times per week on non-consecutive days to build or maintain muscle mass. Since this class meets one day per week, it’s encouraged to strength train additional days on your own to prevent injury. This class is geared toward adults ages 55 and older, but anyone is welcome to join!

You will increase balance, strengthen bones and improve flexibility and coordination. Tai chi is a lifelong exercise with many positive benefits for participants living with or without arthritis. The form is easy to learn and suitable for all ages. Wear loose-fitting clothing for ease of movement and comfortable shoes.

    Women & Finance is a guided discussion that examines why women’s financial issues are often different than men’s. By engaging with other women to gain insights, ideas and strategies, we’ll address how spending aligns with values, how much progress you can make in your savings goals and whether a credit score is an enabler or a barrier. The importance of using employer-sponsored financial benefits will also be discussed. Appetizers and beverages will be provided.
