    At Home on My Own

    Prepare yourself to stay home on your own safely and responsibly. You will learn about first aid, safety procedures, what to do during severe weather, and how to handle other emergencies. We will review phone skills, explore fun snack ideas, and review basic babysitting skills through fun games and activities.

    Babysitter Training

    Get job training to transform your once- in-a-while babysitting job into a summer and after school business. We’ll cover the information and skills necessary to become a Red Cross® certified babysitter. Learn about the basics of child development and how to be safe and responsible when caring for children in the absence of parents or guardians. Take home a babysitter handbook. You must attend all classes to receive your certification.

    Looking for fun, adventure, and time with friends? Engage in outdoor games, gym, and pool time. Play giant yard games, go on a scavenger hunt, and participate in fun contests. There will also be daily art projects and special activities. Join us for a fun-filled summer week. Held rain or shine!

    State Fair Foods

    Who doesn’t like State Fair food? We will create healthy, fabulous foods on a stick and fun fair foods from scratch while learning basic cooking, math, and team building skills. New recipes along with some favorites from last summer. Come prepared to be creative and to have fun!
  • Summer Explorers

    Join us for an exciting adventure filled with fun, hands-on activities. Each day features a new theme, with activities organized into 30-minute stations to keep kids engaged and learning. Campers will explore a variety of topics through interactive and creative activities designed to spark curiosity and build new skills. With a different theme each day, every camper will have a unique and memorable experience! This camp is the perfect complement to swimming lessons that occur during the 9 AM - 12 PM camp time. It will fill the time before and/or after your child’s swimming lesson. YOU MUST ALSO REGISTER AND PAY FOR A SWIMMING LESSON THAT IS IN THE 9 AM - 12 PM TIME FRAME DURING CORRESPONDING WEEKS.     Summer Playground Program - Holbrook Park

    Grades K - 6 Get ready for outdoor fun! Our energetic staff will lead your child through a variety of engaging, organized games and activities designed to encourage teamwork, skill-building, and outdoor fun. We provide a structured, safe environment where kids can explore their interests, try new activities, create art, and make lasting friendships. With active games, special event days, and opportunities to learn new skills, there’s something for everyone! Daily attendance is optional, but registration is required. Don’t forget to bring water and sunscreen each day! *NOTES: PLAYGROUND PROGRAM Program Locations: Holbrook Park - 300 Harrington Dr., Long Lake, MN 55356 Rainbow Park - 1500 Rainbow Avenue, Maple Plain, MN 55359 Weather: If inclement weather starts during the program, we will keep children in the park shelter and you should come pick them up as soon as possible. If inclement weather starts earlier in the day and is expected to last through the afternoon, we will not meet at the park sites. Participants may join us at the Orono Middle School on those days for indoor activities. Orono Middle School - 800 Old Crystal Bay Rd. N., Long Lake, MN 55356 (use lower/north parking lot and enter Door M4) Bus Transportation/Lunch: If you are registered for morning camps and the Playground Program the following details apply: Free bus transportation to playground locations from the school campus. At the time of Playground Program registration, you will be asked to indicate if you are taking advantage of bus transportation. • Send a bag lunch to be eaten at the parks between the time of bus drop-off and 1 pm. Lunch time is supervised, but is intended only for students using bus transportation to the park location. No need to register for Lunch Bunch.

    Sweet Treats

    Explore the world of baking from scratch while creating delicious treats along the way. Baking is a fun, hands-on activity and a great way to reinforce science and math skills! Learn the fundamentals of baking and how to be creative and flexible in the kitchen. On the last day of class, we will create original confections. Get ready for delicious fun!
