  • Gingerbread House Bake & Build - Virtual Class

    Gather the whole family and have fun baking and building your own gingerbread house from scratch! You’ll make gingerbread dough to create the house pieces and whip up royal icing to “glue” and decorate with candies. A detailed packet with the ingredient list, prep instructions, a gingerbread recipe, and a printable house template will be sent before class for easy preparation. Whether starting a new tradition or continuing one, this class will leave you with a beautiful gingerbread house and sweet memories to enjoy together!

    Elevate your holiday gatherings this season with a beautifully crafted charcuterie board. Laura, from Fig and Ivy Charcuterie, will provide step-by-step guidance in the arrangement of fine cheeses, meats, and additional accompaniments. Your board will be a perfectly festive (and edible) centerpiece! Have fun with family and friends at Iron Exchange in Maple Plain. Food and beverages are available to purchase during class. A link to pay the ingredient fee of $40 will be sent out one week prior to the class. Bring home a new experience, a helpful grocery list for future boards, PLUS an artfully arranged 10” round charcuterie board (serves 5-6 people) to enjoy right away!
  • Kick the Sick: Make Your Own Fire Cider

    Boost your wellness toolkit with this hands-on workshop where you’ll make your own jar of fire cider, a spicy, tangy, and time-tested herbal tonic known for supporting immunity, digestion, and circulation. You’ll learn about the health benefits of each ingredient, how to safely prepare and store your cider, and how to incorporate it into your daily routine. All ingredients provided. You'll leave with your own jar of fire cider and the knowledge to confidently make it again at home. Note: Please bring a cutting board and a 32 oz glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. (Jars are available for purchase for $10). Children ages 14 years and older may enroll with an enrolled adult.

    Lefse

    Lefse is a Norwegian delicacy, made for banquets, holidays, weddings, and all special occasions. Making the dough, baking, storing, and of course how to serve lefse (bonus is a bit of history and humor). We will begin with real potatoes using a number of authentic recipes and a modern version using instant potatoes. Plan to sample your fresh, warm creations with traditional fillings, plus take home finished lefse and dough to bake and then share with family and friends. A $9 supply fee payable to instructor at class.

    Mile High Apple Pie

    Fall is in the air, and it's the best time to make apple pie. Nancy will take you through all the steps, from making a crust, to preparing all the filling for your pie using fresh apples. Each student will leave class with a hot apple pie to share with family and friends. Boxes will be provided. Please bring a rolling pin, if you have one. Supply Fee of $15 per student payable to the instructor in class.

    Prep Your Thanksgiving Dinner with Us!

    Take the stress out of Thanksgiving prep with this hands-on cooking class led by a professional chef! You’ll prepare a sliced-style turkey (10–12 lbs), savory sausage and wild rice stuffing, and homemade turkey gravy, all ready to reheat and enjoy on Thanksgiving Day. (All items serve approximately 8 people). All ingredients and supplies are included in the class fee. Leave with fully prepped dishes, packaged in secure, take-home containers. Whether you’re hosting or contributing to a meal, you’ll head into the holiday with confidence!

    Sugar Cookie Bake & Decorate - Caregiver & Child

    Celebrate the season with a sweet baking experience! You'll roll, cut, bake, and decorate six traditional sugar cookies using fun, festive shapes, plenty of frosting and LOTS of sprinkles! Each child (ages 5 and up) or family must have at least one accompanying adult in attendance. After the cookie bake and decorate, a pizza bar and Ceasar salad will be provided for both the child and their adult. (Beverages available for purchase). Cookies can be enjoyed during class or taken home to share later. Please Note: Cookies contain gluten, eggs, and dairy. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any dietary restrictions.
  • Taking the "Doh!" Out of Sourdough

    Have you always wanted to try making sourdough but felt overwhelmed? This fun, hands-on workshop takes the mystery out of the process and shows you how to bake amazing bread with a simple, real-life method. Mix your own dough, learn how to care for a starter, and go home with: one loaf of dough to bake the next day, your own starter, and clear, step-by-step instructions to keep baking at home. What to bring: Large mixing bowl Tea towel/kitchen towel Spatula or dough scraper Kitchen scale (if you have one) Note: For best results, sourdough is typically baked in a Dutch oven. The instructor will share alternative baking options during the workshop, but if you’ve been thinking about getting (or borrowing) one, now’s a great time! A minimum 4–5 qt size is ideal. Children ages 14 years or older may enroll with an enrolled adult.
