Grade 4 & 5 in Fall 2022 Get an early start in this competitive and fun sport! We’ll focus on skill development and play in a Saturday league with area schools. Rising Stars Advanced Basketball Skills
When registering for the camps taking place August 22 - 25 you should select the camp that corresponds with the grades students will be in the Fall of 2022 due to the age-up date in our system for fall programs. Girls and boys are welcome in this advanced basketball skills camp. Improve your defensive mechanics, passing, shooting and dribbling techniques and showcase your skills through competitive challenges. You will be evaluated, placed on teams and practice team skills to increase your game comprehension. Camp will include league games and end with a championship tournament the final day. There will also be an emphasis on communication, effort, teamwork and sportsmanship. -

Skateboard Camp
3rd Lair skateboard camps are designed for all ages and abilities and have been a part of Minnesota action sports development for over 20 years. We teach the basics of skateboarding as well as help more advanced individuals take their skating to the next level. Our professional instructors share their love of the sport in a fun and supportive environment designed to foster confidence and build skills. Our camps provide small group instruction based on skill level so everyone feels comfortable, supported and challenged. www.3rdlair.com See equipment note at bottom of this description. Daily Camp Schedule 8:30 am – Doors open for drop off 9 am-10:30 am – Small group instruction for skill development. 10:30 am-10:45 am – Break/Snack time (bring your own snack). 10:45 am-11:50 am – Optional 20 minute game time and additional small group instruction 11:50 am-Noon – Camp wrap up All participants are required to have a waiver signed prior to participating in camp. Tennis: Green Ball Play
Green ball tennis is for players who are continuing to acquire skills and are ready to play on a full-length court. Players will be refining technique and fundamentals that allow them to rally. Games will involve situational point play to develop strategies for both singles and doubles. Players will be able to score, serve and compete. Tennis racket required. Tennis: Orange Ball Skill Development
Orange ball tennis will help players continue to develop fundamental skills for each stroke while adding movement and court coverage. Orange balls bounce higher and move faster than red, but slower than green balls. Both singles and doubles game situations will involve point play emphasis, footwork, consistency and strategy. Serving, scoring and an introduction to match play will be covered. Tennis racket required. Coach Turunen recommends a 23” - 25” racket. Tennis: Red Ball FUNdamentals
Red ball tennis is named after the foam or felt balls that bounce lower and move slowly through the air, giving beginner players more time to prepare. FUN and tennis games are a major emphasis in this format while players are introduced to the basics of ready position, grip and strokes. Tennis racket required.
