    Bicycle Repair & Maintenance

    Learn all about basic bike set-up, trailside repair, shifting adjustments, brake adjustments, re-cabling a bike for shifting and brakes, tube replacement, tips and tricks and to prepare a bike for sale. Students must bring a bike to class.

    Love the outdoors? Then lace up your hiking boots and grab your backpack! Experience camp life through adventures like “I SPY” nature hikes, tent/shelter building, camp songs and skits, wood chip creations and simple outdoor cooking.

    We are mixing up a great recipe of fun! Favorite children’s books tie into our cooking recipes like muffins, waffles and more! Basic cooking skills of measuring and an introduction to "My Plate" activities will be included. We will add a scoop of silly songs, a dash of dance and a pinch of art projects topped off with outdoor playtime.

    Summer Playground Program - Holbrook Park

    Grades K - 6 Spend the afternoon outside! Our energetic staff will guide your children through games and activities each day. The playground program is an opportunity to explore interests, gain new skills and meet new kids all in a safe and constructive environment. Attendance is not required, but once you sign up, you can come any day. Join us for active games, sports, occasional art projects and special event days. Bring a water bottle and sunscreen. *NOTES: PLAYGROUND PROGRAM Program Locations: Holbrook Park - 300 Harrington Dr., Long Lake, MN 55356 Rainbow Park - 1500 Rainbow Avenue, Maple Plain, MN 55359 Weather: In the event of inclement weather, the programs at the parks will be cancelled. Participants may join us at the Orono Intermediate School Gym on those days for indoor activities. If severe weather starts during the afternoon, we will keep children in the park shelter and you should come pick them up as soon as possible. Orono Intermediate School - 685 Old Crystal Bay Rd. N., Long Lake, MN 55356. Lunch: If your child is attending both a morning camp and the playground program, send a bag lunch to be eaten between 12 - 1 pm. Lunch time is supervised, but is intended only for students using bus transportation. No need to register for Lunch Bunch. Bus Transportation: If you are registered for morning camps and the playground program, free bus transportation is available to playground locations from the school campus. No bus registration required for this option.

    Sweet Treats - Confectionery Creations

    Explore the world of baking from scratch and create delicious treats along the way. New recipes this year including individual fruit and chocolate-covered strawberry bouquets! Baking is a fun hands-on activity and a great way to reinforce science and math skills! We will learn the fundamentals of baking and how to be creative and flexible in the kitchen. Get ready for delicious fun!

    Time Travel Adventures

    Where would you go if you could travel in time? We will explore four different eras beginning with the Jurassic era (dinosaur excavation), the Egyptian Era (finding stolen treasure with a treasure map), the Elizabethan Era (Market day, learning to juggle, Shakespeare – Huzzah!), and the future (what will that look like?). We will have outside activities each day, crafts, and a lot of fun!

This is not a competition like the television show – it is simply having fun while sharing our skills, learning new things, and eating delicious food!
