Alignment Based Yoga - Virtual ClassFitness & RecreationAlignment based yoga for all levels focuses on aligning the bones and creating intelligent action in the muscles, tissue and skin. You will learn to observe your body and alleviate mental stress while practicing. Props can be used to support and enhance the poses. This is an interactive online class where individualized modifications and instructions will be demonstrated and given as necessary to support all levels. Family YogaFitness & RecreationIt may not be your solo zen practice, but Family Yoga is a ton of fun for the whole family. Class is suited for all ages, from your new baby up to your school-aged children and lots of adult/parent participation. Get ready for dancing, singing and yoga posing all in the name of togetherness, fun and movement. It is best to have a 1:1 ratio with each child and adult. This is the perfect option if you cannot commit to a full class or want to try multiple different types of classes. Punch cards are valid for 6 months. Purchase another card if you run out of punches! Punch cards are kept in the Activities Center Fitness Room (30 & 31). The punch card is NOT VALID for pickleball classes, virtual classes, private lessons or open gyms. Senior and Activities Center Membership discounts can not be applied toward a Punch Card purchase. We’ll go through short circuits of exercises that increase your heart rate while strengthening your muscles followed by brief recovery periods. You’ll get maximum health benefit in minimal time. A variety of equipment will be used including hand weights, resistance bands, glides and pure bodyweight. All fitness levels are welcome. Modifications for high or low impact will be offered. The Orono Activities Center (OAC) is offering a free class once per month for members that teaches proper form and safety when strength training.
