4th & 5th Grade FALL Volleyball
Grade 4 & 5 in Fall 2022 Get an early start in this competitive and fun sport! We’ll focus on skill development and play in a Saturday league with area schools. Parents provide transportation to matches. Match schedules will be available after practices begin. Required: athletic shoes and kneepads. LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE! -

Backyard Games
Come and learn the games of Summer! Students will play new games each day, with activities including cornhole, badminton, kickball, and frisbee golf. -
BaseballTots
We use a variety of fun drills and games to introduce players to basic concepts of baseball fundamentals including throwing, batting, fielding and baserunning. Fundamental techniques are taught and emphasized, very active and fun! Parent or guardian participation is recommended for this camp. -
Basketball Camp
This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for beginning to intermediate players. An active week of passing, shooting, dribbling and rebounding makes this one of our most popular programs. Participants should wear appropriate clothing and bring two snacks and a water bottle. -

Beginning Golf Camp
Skyhawks golf focuses on building the confidence of young athletes through proper technique and refining the essential skills of the game. This camp will focus on the fundamentals of form, chipping, putting, driving and body positioning. To assist in this training, Skyhawks has adopted the SNAG (Starting New At Golf) system. SNAG is specifically designed for the entry-level player. SNAG simplifies instruction so that young players can make an easy and effective transition onto the golf course. No need to bring your own clubs - all equipment is provided. We keep the instructor-to-camper ratio for this program very low, resulting in limited availability. Participants should bring appropriate clothing, two snacks, a water bottle, running shoes and sunscreen. -
Compete Junior Golf League
Take the next step in competitive golf! There will be 1 hour of instruction then 2 hours of on-course competitive formats. Tee times start 3 - 4:10 pm for 9-hole course. End times vary between 5:15 - 6:25 pm. In the event of weather, the league will be made up if possible. Registration deadline: May 24. -
Fitness Fun with Obstacles
Get ready to test your speed, agility, balance, and more by participating in a variety of fitness-based activities, and fun games and challenges! Creativity will be encouraged, as students will work to create their own challenging obstacles courses! -
Flag Football Camp
Skyhawks flag football is the perfect program for young athletes who want a complete introduction to America’s game or for those who simply want to brush up on their skills in preparation for league play. Through our ‘skill of the day,’ campers will learn skills on both sides of the ball including the core components of passing, catching and de-flagging or defensive positioning - all presented in a fun and positive environment! -
Floor Hockey
Come and learn how to play the sport of hockey without the ice! Students will work on showing good sportsmanship and teamwork in a fun and positive setting. They will also learn the rules and fundamentals of floor hockey, such as stick handling and shooting. We’ll also take the game outside to the playground for “street” hockey. -

Intermediate & Advanced Diving Camp
This camp is a great start for those interested in competitive diving associated with participation on a high school swim team. Time will be spent learning fundamental skills and basic dives to prepare athletes for future competition. -

Intro to Diving Camp
Learn basic fundamental diving skills. Divers will start with diving from the side of pool and progress to a front dive with approach from the diving board. -

Junior Golf School
Open to all levels. Learn the full swing and the short game. Range balls included. Clubs are available. In the event of weather, golfers will receive a rain check for another session. Registration deadline for Session 1 is May 22 and Session 2 is June 19. -
Junior Rowing Prep Camp
This camp was created for those considering joining our Juniors team but are new to the sport of rowing! Learn the basic skills needed for competitive rowing. Develop technique in the boats, experience rowing workouts and train as part of a team. Rowing may be just the sport you’re looking for! After building a solid skills base and more confidence on the water, new rowers may join our juniors team as “novice rowers.” Participants should be competent swimmers and be capable of swimming 100 meters. Dress to get wet! Wear socks and tennis shoes and bring a water bottle and towel. Class build upon the skills learned in the previous session, so consistent attendance is recommended. Check-in: park along the fence on the west side of the Birch’s parking lot, and proceed to the check-in area. Take the stone steps on the west side of the building past the deck to the waterfront. Learn to Row "Intro" Camp
Are you interested in trying the great sport of rowing? This camp is a great introduction to rowing and the basic techniques! Participants should be competent swimmers and be capable of swimming 100 meters. Initial instruction and practice take place at the dock. Once kids progress, they move to open water with a safety/coaching launch boat in close proximity and personal floatation devices on board. Dress to get wet! Wear socks and tennis shoes and bring a water bottle and towel. Classes builds upon the skills learned in the previous session, so consistent attendance is recommended. Mini-Hawk Camp: Soccer, Flag Football & Basketball
Ages 4 - 7 This soccer, flag football and basketball program gives kids a fun and positive first step into athletics. Campers explore balance, hand-eye coordination and skill development at their own pace. Participants should bring two snacks, a water bottle and sunscreen. -

These camps focus on basketball, soccer and flag football skills and games throughout the day. Kids should wear athletic clothes, bring a lunch (for the full-day camp), two snacks and a water bottle. If you’re looking for a fun sports camp, this is the one for you! -

Experience a variety of “net” sports activities including volleyball, tennis, pickleball and badminton. A new activity every day! -
Olympic Fencing
Fencing is a vigorous sport that requires and develops stamina, quick reactions, speed, accuracy of movement and excellent coordination. It utilizes natural body movements to create simple and effective self-protection techniques with the sword. Attacking, defense, timing and intense tactics are all integrated into this beginning class. Whether you are fencing for a good workout or gaining points for the Olympics, fencing is fun for the whole family. We provide everything needed to fence (mask, jacket, glove and weapon). Come dressed comfortably including long sweat pants and athletic shoes. -
Orono Boys Basketball Camp
Boys will have an opportunity to improve their fundamental basketball skills and their overall understanding of the game. Each day begins with skill development and skills contests and then we will move into short games and scrimmages. At the older levels, more time will be spent on game play. Girls are welcome to register for the Grades K - 2 camp held June 13 - 16. -
Orono Girls Basketball Camp
Keep your basketball skills sharp this summer! This camp is about improving on the fundamentals of the game and having fun. There will be skills instruction, drills and game play. In the grades 8 - 11 camp, more time will be spent on game play. -
Orono Soccer Camp
Coaches from the Orono High School programs, Orono Westonka Soccer Club, along with current high school and alumni players will lead this camp for all levels. Groups will be based on age and skill level. Players will work on ball mastery, dribbling, 1 vs. 1 moves and ball striking. Camp will begin with small-sided scrimmages and end with a World Cup-style tournament. Participants will develop skills in age-appropriate activities and games. Bring shin guards, cleats, a water bottle and a ball with your name on it if you have one. -

Rising Stars Advanced Basketball Skills
When registering for the camps taking place August 22 - 25 you should select the camp that corresponds with the grades students will be in the Fall of 2022 due to the age-up date in our system for fall programs. Girls and boys are welcome in this advanced basketball skills camp. Improve your defensive mechanics, passing, shooting and dribbling techniques and showcase your skills through competitive challenges. You will be evaluated, placed on teams and practice team skills to increase your game comprehension. Camp will include league games and end with a championship tournament the final day. There will also be an emphasis on communication, effort, teamwork and sportsmanship. -
Skateboard Camp
3rd Lair skateboard camps are designed for all ages and abilities and have been a part of Minnesota action sports development for over 20 years. We teach the basics of skateboarding as well as help more advanced individuals take their skating to the next level. Our professional instructors share their love of the sport in a fun and supportive environment designed to foster confidence and build skills.
