Join us for an introductory class to learn all about the equipment, court, scoring and rules of pickleball. This sport is a combination of ping-pong, badminton and tennis, yet is much easier to learn than any of these. We base this class on practicing the essential elements of the game such as the serve, the return, the forehand and backhand, the dink shot and the importance of court positioning and shot selection. Soon you will understand why pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the U.S.!
After 20+ years of teaching math, Laura decided to split her time between teaching math and teaching pickleball. Surprisingly more people seem to like pickleball than math. As an instructor for the past 3 years in the northern and western suburbs, she finds value in sharing her love of the sport with people just starting out or with people trying to improve their game. She runs her sessions with a good balance of skills, drills and play time.
