Bjorn Cycling Tune Up

Adult Enrichment / Special Interest & Hobbies -
Winter/Spring 2025
Many of your bike issues can be solved in this class! The major focus will be on identification of bicycle parts, trailside repair, shifting adjustments, brake adjustments, chain maintenance, how to repair/replace a tube (flat tire), and how to safety check your bike. We will also learn basic wheel truing, replacing a chain, and how to replace brake and shifting cables. Please bring a bike. This class is a great value that includes a tune up!

Erik Bloom

Erik's passion for teaching started when opening a youth bike program east of St. Paul in the late 90’s that is still helping kids today earn bikes while learning how to repair. 19 years as the Director of Training at the largest swim school in the Midwest he developed an understanding for keeping things simple and teach skills that build. He saw a need for not only adults but our youth to learn how to fix the simple to more advance bicycle mechanical issues as well as setting up a bike for a better fit. After teaching a few classes what really came clear was it wasn’t just about fixing a bike, but learning a skill and pride in doing it themselves. Each class goes through a checklist of learning. Once a level is completed the learner moves on to the next level and corresponding checklist. Complete levels and earn equipment that will help you with potential bicycle issues.
