  • Chinese: New Students Grades K - 5 Registration Deposit

    Grades K-5 classes meet for 55 sessions Returning students will be given preference for the language program through August 1 and at that time we will take new registrations. Sections will be formed based on student experience and the schedule may vary due to number of students enrolled. Students wanting both Chinese and Spanish may register for both programs on opposite days.Registration Deposit Fee ($50) Mondays & Wednesdays, September 24  - May 8    8:15 - 9 am NO CLASSES on Non-school days and Dec. 17 & 19University Language Center (ULC) ULC is a Minneapolis based language school providing instruction to students of all ages. Instructors are trained using the latest in language acquisition research and teaching methods. All ULC instructors have the language proficiency of an educated native speaker, a minimum of a bachelor's degree in languages, education or a related field and practical teaching experience with children. Class size ranges from 12-16 students per section. Children will be grouped by grade level and experience. For the first week or two there will be some assessment for proficiency. Your child's group may change based on this assessment. Class options are subject to change based on enrollment.Fees Estimated Full year cost $832 + $50 Registration Deposit. (8 payments of $104 will be due the 15th of each month beginning September 15th) The program fees include workbooks and materials. Register online and you will be charged quarterly. Your $50 yearly registration fee is only refundable if we cannot place the student in a group. You will be billed for the program beginning September 15th. Scholarships are available. If replacement books are needed, the approximate cost is $15 - $30, payable to Orono Community Education.
